My episode of The Unbreakable You podcast is up!!
I think Meg was a little taken aback by how quickly and enthusiastically I said yes to being a guest on her podcast. Truthfully, I’d dreamt of being on her show ever since it launched! I’ve been friends with Meg for many years now through the blogging world. We’ve actually met and talk on the phone, and her boyfriend is doing my web design. I feel like that’s important to clarify since I basically say every other blogger is my friend, ha! We’re real friends!
Talking Eating Disorder Recovery
But Meg is just a gem. We have such a similar history of eating disorder recovery, gaining weight to regain our periods, and a really strong desire to help other women going through similar things. She took the route of becoming a holistic nutritionist in Canada and now runs her own business, which is amazing. She is always so real and encouraging, focusing on self love more than anything. If you’re wondering if she really is that sweet, that answer is yes. She is just the nicest, most loving human being!
Going on her podcast was a no-brainer. We didn’t plan anything out ahead of time, but we can always have the best discussions of our experience with recovery, gaining weight, accepting our bodies, and developing a healthy relationship with food. I felt so lit up after talking with her about this, and it was a good reminder that I need to do more of this stuff. More of what I’m passionate about, what doesn’t feel like work, what makes me literally buzz from the inside.
In this episode we discuss:
- My history with Anorexia Nervosa
- How I regained my period after amenorrhea
- BMI
- Mentally coping with gaining weight
- Reactive binging after Anorexia Nervosa
- The importance of personalized health & Integrative Medicine
- Accepting your natural body size
- What it means to be unbreakable

I definitely go on some passionate rants during this post, and listening back I know I didn’t explain everything perfectly which makes me cringe a bit as a future physician. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy it!
